Welcome to Tutorial Tuesdays, a new weekly feature in which we give you the lowdown on how to excel at a skill required for making the most of being a Tapper. In this week’s edition, we’re starting with some big picture know-how by taking you through the basics of navigating our redesigned platform. Make sure you check back every single week for new Tappin’ tips.
On to this week’s tutorial!
As many of you know, we recently introduced a site makeover which included adding some new naming conventions and making things look a little different (all right, a lot different, but also a lot cooler). Click ahead for a breakdown of what changed and what it all means.
We’ve got 10 types of Missions for you to embark on:
Photo missions will prompt you to take a picture then post it on the site with a caption. You can expect these missions to ask you to include the brand’s product in the photo, or to complete an activity of some sort. Photo missions are a fun way for you to be creative and create cool content about brands.
Comment missions are short open-ended questions in which a brand is looking to get more detailed feedback from you about a specific idea or topic. The most creative, thoughtful, or useful submissions are often starred!
Discussion missions consist of a panel of interactive questions where Tappers can have conversations about real, interesting topics. Hey, you might even be helping one of the hottest brands out there develop their latest products or advertisements!
Instagram missions will ask you to upload a photo onto Instagram with certain mission hashtags (these help us find your photo). Instagram is a great place to get creative with your photos, so don’t shy away from playing around with those filters!
Pinterest missions combine the best of Pinterest and Crowdtap. We’ll give you a prompt and ask you to pin or create a board with a certain hashstag for these types of missions. We can’t wait to get in on the pinning fun with you!
Oh, and if those icons happen to be gold on your page, then that means you’ve got something in progress! Better make sure to complete that before it closes!
You can easily see what types of missions are available for you to complete on your portal. See those icons on each Crowd? If we match them with the Icon Legend above, it looks like there are Polls and a Comment mission available to complete in the Cottonelle crowd, with a Media mission that’s still in progress!
We know they might take some getting used to, so we’ve helped you out a bit: you can see what they represent just by hovering over them!
Cool? Cool! Let’s move onto Mission pages next.
All of our missions have dedicated pages now, so you can clearly see everything that we’re asking you to do in your mission, from submitting your application, to a photo submission with your pet, and even leaving a review for what might be your latest and greatest sampling yet.
The best part is, you’ll always know what to do next by clicking on the blue button at the top of your page!
Everything you love about mission pages is still there:
- A description explaining what this mission is all about
- How many points you’ll be able to earn. Not sure what points are for? Just click on the info icon!
- And if this is a super duper awesome Sample or Party Mission, we’ll tell you what you’re getting. Contest? We’ll tell you what the available prizes are!
Let’s move onto Quickhits … erm I mean Polls.
All of the crowds that have Polls for you will appear on this tab. That means each crowd will only appear ONCE, but that crowd may have more Polls for you to complete there.
Speaking of Crowds, let’s take a quick tour of what you’ll be able to do on each individual crowd page:
- Complete your Polls
- Find your Live and Completed missions (you can filter between the two)
- See last month’s Top 100 Tappers for the brand and what your current Top 100 progress is for this month
- Curious what prizes are being offered for this month’s Brand Drawings? You can see them front and center on your brand page, along with our Official Rules.
Well, Tappers, what do you think? We would love to hear your honest opinions, so leave ’em in the comments below!
