HOW TO: Make Sure Your Hosted Party Rocks

We bet you Crowdtap experts are well aware of what our hosted parties consist of, but let’s start this tutorial off by defining what we mean by the term anyway.

In the Crowdtap universe, a “Hosted Party” is a chance to get together with your buds and have fun trying out a new product together — courtesy of us and your favorite brands, of course. When Hosted Party opportunities come up, they’re posted on our platform as Sample Missions. You have to log in, apply, and then wait to see if you’re chosen for the mission. If you are, you then sign back in to confirm your interest and provide us with a current mailing address. Once that’s done, we pack a specially curated box of party supplies and send it on its way to your door. This is where the fun part begins!

To successfully complete a Hosted Party, you have to follow the provided instructions on how many guests to invite, what kind of samples to provide them with, and which photo poses to definitely check off the list. However, you don’t strike us as a bare minimum sort. Just scraping by with the basics? No way. That’s why we’re here to provide you with some tips on making sure your party rocks. Let’s dive in.

1: THINK OF A THEME

Having a cohesive motif makes it much easier to pick out the right decor, props, snacks, invitations, and even guests. Make sure your theme matches the products you’ll be trying out. Beauty products are perfect for an in-home spa night; sweetener samples can be a great excuse for that bake-off you’ve been contemplating. Even a party with sausage samples at its center doesn’t have to be a boring old dinner — it can be a tropical luau-themed backyard barbecue instead. You know you’ve been dying to break out that coconut bra!

2: PLAN RELEVANT GAMES AND ACTIVITIES

Games and activities aren’t just for kids’ parties. There’s nothing quite as effective at breaking the ice and loosening up your guests as starting off with a structured activity. In addition to researching potential pastimes, make sure you stock all the ingredients necessary for all of your guests to participate. For best results, have at least two games or group activities planned, but be prepared to abandon them and veer off-course if your guests seem to be having more fun wading into freeform territory.

3: CURATE YOUR GUEST-LIST

Everyone knows a guest-list can make or break a party, so make sure you optimize yours. Instead of just inviting the people you chat with most often, try to think of who would most appreciate the product being sampled and the activities you have planned. Guests that are jazzed about what the party has to offer will naturally bring a contagious energy to the event. Ones that are just there because they think it’s a social obligation? Expect them to drag the proceedings down.

4. SERVE SNACKS

We know we talk about our love of food a lot — like A LOT a lot — so this might seem like it’s coming from a somewhat biased source but, trust us, nothing kills a gathering faster than a bunch of low blood sugar headaches. You don’t have to go all out if culinary prowess isn’t your strong suit, but do make sure there’s at least a bag of pretzels making a cameo appearance.

5: KEEP THAT CAMERA CLOSE

Sure, cameras are a must to capture the specific shots requested in your Photo Missions, but make sure to have them accessible even after you’ve got those photos down. If Tips 1-4 have been properly executed, chances are your get-together will be one for the ages and you’ll want to capture and share all of its fun moments.

This sure would be a fun mission to do. I would suggest that the hostess of the party have Thank You cards personalized to each person and hand them out to each guest as they leave. And “goody bags” done well are always a big hit and can make your event one that will be remembered!
