So, did everyone across your social media channels dress as a Stranger Things character this Halloween? Yup, same here. We also scrolled past unicorns, Frida Kahlos, emojis, and even a Bob Ross and a Betsy Ross pairing. We know Christmas is generally considered the most magical time of the year but, in our opinion, Halloween really takes the cake!
That’s why we’re a tad heartbroken that it’s already Thursday and Halloween is a whole year away, yet AGAIN. Thankfully, you Tappers came to the rescue with your hordes of incredible #tbt Halloween submissions. From sepia tone 1970’s-era shots of toddlers dressed as clowns, to hilarious photos of your wild college days, going through these photos was one big giggle-fest for us here in the office. Below are the five winning submissions – enjoy!
We’re starting off with a bang, and it’s clearly THE CUTEST BANG ever. This little tyke in his Ghostbusters getup is perfect down to every detail, but especially that heartwarming, goofy grin! Thanks for the submission, Heather H.
Something about this photo from Carly S. (she’s the one in the Barney suit) from 1991 really makes us laugh. We think it might be the poses of Carly and her brother, the Grim Reaper – they’re pretty passive. Or perhaps it’s seeing Barney amidst cobwebs and graves. Either way, a pretty solid Halloween throwback.
That’s correct, Tappers. What you’re looking at is a professionally done portrait of a teeny tiny little Care Bear. Nadene A. says that her daughter’s now a teenager and is pretty embarrassed by this photoshoot, but we couldn’t love it any more!
The gang’s all here for our final winner! This was photo was submitted by Karen C. (Raggedy Anne, bottom right), and she’s joined by a Barbie Bride, a clown, a gypsy, a straw man, aaand a few other characters we can’t quite figure out. Looked like a fun trick-or-treat in 1976!
What’d you think, Tappers? Did any of these costumes look familiar to you? We’d love to hear about the kinds of memories these photos brought back. While you’re feeling all nostalgic and autumnal, make sure to head over to next week’s Thumbs Up Thursday. We sense some pie might be involved…
