Tastemaker Feed: Goals on Pause

Welcome back, Tappers. As we discussed in our last entry, we’re starting this year off with two brand new formats: Tappers Weigh In and Tastemaker Feed.

You’ve already experienced the former, getting the scoop on what your fellow members think of the gadgets unveiled at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. Now, it’s time to dive in to the latter — showing you what the Crowdtap community’s finest have been posting on their blogs and social networks in the past few weeks.

After a rough 2016, these guys all seemed ready to forget their New Year’s Resolutions for a moment and indulge in little at-home spa days for themselves and their little ones. Let’s check out their pics for some inspiration.

johnsonandjohnson13“If you’re making the best decisions you can and loving them something fierce, you’re doing exactly what you should be doing.”
-Samantha C., Fort Benning, GA
The Samantha Show

We couldn’t agree more! Luckily, a hug from a teeny loved one is often the most calming, sweet feeling of all.

Philosophy-Horizontal-3“I mean, let’s be honest… who doesn’t want the high-tech facial feel without the professional treatment price tag?!”
-Christina T., West Hartford, CT
Oh So Glam

Not us. At-home pampering allows you to relax without having to anticipate that icky part where your treatment ends and you have to schlep back out into the dreary world again.

DSC05464-2-1024x680“I love multipurpose products, which is why I tend to use lip balms as nail cream and blushes as shadows at times. But there are a few products that aren’t meant for my own beauty use yet work better than most products on the market and I usually find them in my kids’ bathroom.”
-Yanira G., Bartlett, IL
Monticello Street

We live for beauty hacks like these! Trying to covertly rub some lip balm on our cuticles right now.

“Lately my skin had been very congested and Ive been breaking out randomly and getting blackheads …For me its all hormonal since my skin is slowly going back to the way it used to be before baby.”
-Rocy R., Hialeah, FL
Rocy Cheeks

Having a baby can send you into a physical and emotional tailspin. Whenever possible, it’s important to make a little time to acknowledge your body’s major feat and reward it for its accomplishments.

It’s hard not to dream about a long bubble bath in that claw-foot tub we don’t actually have after scrolling through these pics. We may be convinced to settle for some Enya in our headphones on the way home tonight though.

Now it’s your turn. Tell us, what are you doing to unwind and take care of yourself as 2017 kicks off?

First,I decided my job was entirely too much unneeded stress, so I am currently unemployed ( but searching) and spending time with my grandchildren! Catching up on preventive health screenings I have neglected due to job duties ( like a mammogram). Sleeping more and getting my hormones in balance! This is my year!

Nothing like family time and sometimes more on our plate isn’t worth the sacrifices of the family time.

I look for any opportunity to focus on my health and skin..even though the chances are few and seemingly far between. I love it when my skin feels fresh and rejuvenated.
