With last night’s Academy Awards (congrats, Moonlight!), the award show season has come to a close. Throughout the past couple of days, we asked you about your interests and preferences when it comes to film and TV award shows. Here’s what you told us!
Most of you don’t follow award shows – but of those who do, 26% follow the Academy Awards.
What motivates those who watch to tune in? It’s a tight race between nominated films or shows (36%), red carpet fashion (34%), and nominated actors (30%).
When it comes to millennials who watch, fashion and films are tied at 35% each.
Of those who have, 20% said that La La Land or Hidden Figures were their favorite. But, among millennials, La La Land pulled ahead, with 23% saying it was top in their hearts.
Which it did…for a few seconds, before it was announced that there was a mistake, and “Moonlight” actually took home the big prize. Your reactions? Most of you (34%) said – “Wait, what??”
Even though many of you haven’t seen Moonlight or La La Land, most (54%) said you would watch a film after it wins an Oscar.
