Hey future Crowdtappers, this blog post is dedicated to you! Have you discovered Crowdtap and felt puzzled about the extensive information we ask for during the sign-up process? You're definitely not alone! Studies have revealed that many consumers hesitate to complete sign-ups due to concerns about spam, data security, and the purpose behind the requested information. Building trust, ensuring comfort, and promoting transparency are crucial aspects in this regard. Therefore, in this post, we'll delve into our sign-up process and offer you some behind-the-scenes insights!

Let's begin by exploring our sign-up process. Currently, we have a 4-step journey that typically takes new members only 60 seconds to complete. During this process, we request your email, a password, standard demographic information, and also a phone number. These details are essential for creating a personalized and secure experience for our users.

Step 1: Create your account.

In this step, we invite you to share some additional demographic details, enabling us to better understand you! You'll be asked to provide your birthday, preferred gender, and race. We value your privacy and sensitivity, which is why we offer the option to select "other/prefer not to say" if you are not comfortable disclosing your race. Our aim is to create an inclusive and respectful environment where you can freely express your preferences.

Why do we ask this info?

At Crowdtap, we gather this information to enhance your survey experience by allowing brands to send surveys directly to you based on your age, gender, and race. This customization ensures that you receive surveys tailored to your unique individuality, making the entire process easier and more enjoyable for you, and more accurate and impactful for our brands.

As you approach the final step, we kindly request your current city, state, and zip code. Additionally, this is where we seek your agreement to our terms and conditions and privacy policy, ensuring a seamless and secure experience on our platform.

Why do we ask this info?

Similar to the demographic information, your current residence plays a crucial role in tailoring Crowdtap surveys specifically for your geographical area. This enables brands to offer you opportunities related to products available in certain cities or states, or even news about store openings in your vicinity. The exciting part is that you might answer a survey about a new product launch and then discover it on the shelves of your local grocery store just a month later! It's all about bringing personalized and relevant experiences right to your doorstep.

Step 4: Get Verified

In this final step, we kindly request your phone number. Within 30 seconds, we'll send you a verification code, which you'll enter into the provided field. Once the code is confirmed, you'll be automatically directed to the dashboard of your brand new Crowdtap account, all set and ready to go!

Why do we ask for this info?

The reward aspect of our app occasionally attracts various spammers and bots during sign-up. To maintain a genuine and reliable community, we take the essential step of verifying phone numbers to ensure that all members are actual humans without multiple accounts. It matters because spammers often rush through surveys at incredible speeds, causing them to fill up and close quickly. Consequently, our genuine human members may miss the opportunity to complete those surveys and earn points.
